The 2026 Annual Meeting of the Surface and Materials Chemistry Section of the Swedish Chemical Society brings together researchers from academia and industry to explore the latest advances in surface and materials science. Join us in Umeå – gateway to the Swedish Arctic – for three days of inspiring science, lively discussions, and networking in a unique northern setting.
Theme: Materials and Surfaces for Sustainability and Health: From Northern Resources to Molecular Solutions
The program features keynote lectures by leading experts, invited talks spanning the full breadth of surface and materials chemistry, an interactive poster session, and a conference dinner. The meeting runs lunch-to-lunch for convenient travel.
Participants will also have the opportunity to tour the analytical facilities of the Chemical and Biological Center (KBC; https://www.umu.se/en/chemical-biological-centre/), including the Umeå Centre for Electron Microscopy, the X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and the NMR platforms.
